Stephenie Meyer (Author)Stephenie Meyer was born December 24, 1973 in Connecticut. Her family settled in Phoenix by the time she was four, and she still resides in Arizona. The unusual spelling of her name was given to her by her father, Stephen (Stephen + ie). Stephenie is the second of three girls; Emily and Heidi and she also has three brothers younger than herself and her sisters; Jacob, Paul, and Seth. She went to high school in Scottsdale, Arizona and was awarded a National Merit Scholarship, which she used to pay her way through Brigham Young University, in Provo, Utah. She majored in English, but concentrated on literature rather than creative writing, mostly because she didn’t consider reading books “work”. (more…)

Fahrentheit 451 is a dystopian soft science fiction novel by Ray Bradbury and was first published in 1953. It is a critique of what Bradbury saw as an increasingly dysfunctional American society, written in the early years of the Cold War. The plot is very original and ironic. The novel has often been thought of as provoking and makes you question your own knowledge and freedoms of modern life. (more…)
